On December 8th, 2021 at 7:54 a.m., Officers from the Mount Vernon Police Department and Medics from the Mount Vernon Fire Department responded to the Follin Avenue apartment complex on a 911 call of an unresponsive 6-year-old boy.
The Police Officers arrived first on scene followed quickly by the Medic team. CPR was already in progress upon their arrival. This was continued by Officers and Medics for some time before the child was determined to be deceased.
The incident is under investigation by the Mount Vernon Police Department and the Knox County Coroners Office.
