Knox County Sheriff’s Report – Nov 29, 2021

November 26
A complainant advised they had located a bag containing, what appeared to be drugs, at their place of employment. The substance was collected and placed into evidence for destruction.

November 27
A non-offense victim fell asleep in a tree stand and fell out to the ground. Fredericktown squad and fire located him and he was flown by helicopter to Grant Medical Center.

November 28
A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for turning the wrong way on a one-way street then nearly striking a curb. A deputy noticed signs of impairment so field sobriety tests were performed. The driver, Jeremiah Jones was arrested for OVI. Jones was also in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and his vehicle was impounded.

Deputies were dispatched to a Mount Vernon residence on a disturbance call. Upon arrival, deputies were told by the victim that they had been physically assaulted. The person who had committed the assault was known to the victim and had left to return to their residence. Statements were collected by all parties involved. A report was sent to the Law Director’s Office for review of possible charges.

November 29
Deputies were dispatched to a domestic violence incident on Van Winkle Road. A report was taken and statements and photographs were collected. Erin C. Martin, of Frazeysburg, was arrested for domestic violence and incarcerated at the Knox County Jail.

While traveling on Danville Amity Road a deputy discovered a vehicle parked in a pull-off area with heavy front and rear-end damage. The deputy exited his patrol car to investigate the vehicle and found the airbags had also deployed. The vehicle was unoccupied. The deputy searched the area and found the vehicle had crashed into the bridge nearby. The vehicle was impounded at On the Spot Towing and the driver of the vehicle has not been identified at this time.
