2021 Fredericktown Christmas Walk

The Fredericktown Community prepares for the 21st annual Christmas Walk on Dec. 4

It will be a Country Christmas this year to celebrate the 21st Annual Christmas Walk and Charity Auction on Saturday, December 4th from 3 pm -7 pm. Though there have been many adaptations to this event, what has not changed is their partnership with Food For The Hungry of Knox County to help raise funds to support Fredericktown Interchurch, the Fredericktown Salvation Army, and the Fredericktown Community Relief Fund. Plus, it is a fun family-oriented community event. We ask you to come out and support this event by your presence and donations as you are able.

The Charity Auction has a new twist this year!
We will have 2 auctions for twice the fun and goodies. The live auction will be held in the newly renovated Council Chambers (formerly Senior Citizen Building). This will be a scrumptious food auction. Donations can be dropped off at Council Chambers between 12 pm and 3 pm on December 4th – the day of the Fredericktown Christmas Walk.

Due to the success of the virtual auction on Facebook last year, it will be offered again this year. Your quality donations are needed to make this a success. Families, friends, neighbors, churches, and organizations are encouraged to partner to create baskets, service offerings, and gift certificates to donate. Please drop off your items at Fredericktown Interchurch between November 29th and December 1st. Late submissions will not be accepted. The Facebook auction will be held from December 5th until 11:59 PM on December 11th. Items and instructions on how to bid can be viewed in person during the walk at Fredericktown Interchurch, or on the Fredericktown Christmas Walk Facebook page.

Catch me if you Can 5K Run/Walk
Registration link for the annual 5K fun run or walk can be found on the Christmas Walk Facebook page. Holiday costumes are welcomed and encouraged. Gather at the Gazebo at 2:30 to begin and the run will end at the Gazebo for the official lighting of the Christmas tree. The commemorative shirt will be available for pickup the day of the walk to those who purchased them before the deadline.

Ornament
The County Christmas theme this year will be represented by a traditional winter scene and featured on the annual ornament. Ornaments may be purchased in advance by contacting Joely Leply at TD Landscape and the day of the event at the craft/vendor exhibits at the Presbyterian Church. They also may be purchased at Aunt Ruth’s Attic.

This unique ornament was created by a local business Traditions Engraving and will be on display at Aunt Ruth’s Attic, 167 North Main St., Fredericktown, Park National Bank, FC Bank and the Fredericktown Library.

Crafters and Vendors
Crafters and vendors will return to the Fredericktown Presbyterian Church, 17 S Main Street. There will be ice sculptures, a gingerbread house contest at the Masonic Lodge and crafts for kids at the Baptist church with Santa at the Gazebo. Be sure to plan on taking a wagon ride to Sockman Park to view the lights. Plus, Santa will be bringing his favorite reindeer for a visit. Local Businesses will be open along Main Street.

Big Blue from WNZR will be broadcasting – stop by and say hello and register to win a Christmas Stocking stuffed with goodies!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 4th and visit Fredericktown to support those in need. You can follow the Fredericktown Christmas Walk on Facebook and Instagram.
