MOUNT VERNON, Nov. 12, 2021 – During the week of Nov. 22, 2021, Palmer and Son Excavating, Ltd., of Wooster, will install a new, two-inch water main along East Street in the City of Mount Vernon.
The work is being completed as part of the City’s effort to update waterlines that are in need of replacement and improvement. Individual service lines will also be replaced to the meter pits.
The project will be completed at no cost to property owners. At times water service to residences in the area will be affected, including loss of water pressure, and boiling of water used for consumption will be necessary. Door hangers will be distributed explaining what to do and when the water is safe to drink once water pressure is restored. Water service disruptions will be minimized as much as possible.
