Still Time to Catch a Glimpse of Fall Colors

ODNR Fall Color Update – No. 6

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Still looking to see fall colors this year? This coming week may be your last chance according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).

“Despite this year’s delay in color development, there are now areas showcasing breathtaking color displays,” said ODNR Fall Color Forester David Parrott. “Today through next week will likely be this year’s peak condition for most of the state before leaf drop. This may be your last chance to find maples exhibiting vivid yellows, dazzling oranges, and deep reds and sweetgums turning deep purple.”

Did you know Ohio has several boardwalks and paved trails that make seeing our beautiful outdoor spaces easier for everyone? Our accessible activities and facilities page gives a full list of multiple spaces that give people of all abilities a chance to enjoy the outdoors. Many of our boardwalks wind their way through scenic nature preserves while our paved trails showcase our state parks. And don’t forget to download our DETOUR trails app which has a search feature for accessible trails.

As we end our fall color season, the cool chill in the air means that the holidays are right around the corner. Don’t forget to give the gift of the great outdoors – including our new limited-edition state parks ornament!
