Thalea String Quartet to Perform at the Memorial Theater

Pronounced TA’lia, the Greek origin means “to flourish, to blossom” and also refers to one of the nine muses of Greek mythology, presiding over comedy and pastoral poetry.
The Community Concert Association is proud to bring this talented quartet to Mount Vernon. Having performed at the Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall, they bring a “signature vibrancy and emotional commitment to dynamic performances that reflect the past, present, and the future of the string quartet repertoire while celebrating diverse musical traditions from around the world.” They are winners of a 2021 National Chamber Music Competition and have shared the stage with luminaries of the chamber music world. Yet, they have been adventurous enough to explore other musical styles and have premiered dozens of new works. Both violinists are from Canada (Ontario and Alberta), while the violist is from Texas, and the cellist hails from Ohio (Cincinnati).
Individual tickets may be purchased at the door ($25 each), and season tickets are still available, with 5 concerts – including this one – for only $55. CDC guidelines recommend masks in indoor public places. #concert #concertseries #chambermusic #stringquartet
