(MOUNT VERNON) The Knox County Grand Jury issued ten indictments in its first session of the month.
Casey A. Arck, 39, of Mount Vernon, was indicted for trafficking in cocaine and possession of cocaine, both felonies of the second degree, with forfeiture specifications. During a traffic stop, Arck was allegedly found to be in possession of approximately 22 grams of cocaine. The case was investigated by KCSO Det. Terry Wolfe
Kerie M. Watson, 36, of Mount Vernon, was indicted with a charge of permitting drug abuse, a felony of the fifth degree, and aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree. During a search warrant at her Monroe Township residence, Watson was allegedly permitting felony drug abuse and possessing methamphetamine. This case was investigated by KCSO detectives.
Jade N. Eberhardt, 30, of Mount Vernon, was indicted with a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree. MVPD Ptl. Aaron Collins initiated a traffic stop with Eberhardt due to an equipment violation. During the stop a K9 alert resulted in the search of the vehicle the discovery of alleged methamphetamine.
Lisa S. Swetnam, 30, of Newark, was indicted for possession of heroin, a felony of the fifth degree; two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, both felonies of the fifth degree; tampering with evidence, a felony of the third degree; and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. When Swetnam allegedly drove over the fog line, OSHP Tpr. Colten Riley initiated a traffic stop. Tpr. Riley administered field sobriety tests, observing and clues of driver impairment. Swetnam was also allegedly found in possession of heroin and multiple other narcotics, which Swetnam allegedly attempted to ingest during the search of the vehicle.
Payton A. Shinabery, 20, of Fredericktown, was indicted on charges of possession of heroin and possession of a fentanyl-related compound, both felonies of the fifth degree. Shinabery was searched during a traffic stop where she was the passenger. MVPD officers found Shinabery to be in possession of alleged heroin and fentanyl at the time of the arrest. This case was investigated by Sgt. Jessica Butler.
Dustin E. Shinabery, 48, of Mount Vernon, was indicted for possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a felony of the fifth degree, and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. MVPD Ptl. Uhler initiated a traffic stop with Shinabery due to a traffic violation. Shinabery was searched on the scene and was allegedly discovered to be in possession of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia. This case was investigated by Sgt. Jessica Butler.
Allan M. Simones, 38, of Mount Vernon, was indicted for domestic violence, a felony of the third degree. It is alleged Simones caused physical harm to a family member at his residence. This case was investigated by MVPD Ptl. Nicholas Holdren.
Chad T. McKnight, 28, of Fredericktown, was indicted for two counts of aggravated possession of drugs and possession of a fentanyl-related compound, all felonies of the fifth degree. During a traffic stop in April 2021, McKnight was discovered to be in possession of alleged fentanyl and methamphetamine. In another incident in June 2021, McKnight was arrested due to an active warrant and was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine at the time of the arrest. Ptl. Holdren and Ptl. Sarah Wheeler investigated these incidents.
Corey B. Woods, 18, of Mount Vernon, was indicted for aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree, and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. Woods was stopped due to riding his bicycle the wrong way on a one-way street. Woods was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia at the time. The case was investigated by Sgt. Jessica Butler.
Melvin R. Fiske, 35, of Mount Vernon, was indicted for failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a felony of the third degree; carrying concealed weapons and receiving stolen property, both first-degree misdemeanors. KCSO Dep. Luke Guthrie attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Fiske, when he allegedly failed to pull over. A chase ensued, reaching speeds of approximately 101 mph before coming to a stop near Sparta. When the vehicle was searched, deputies allegedly found Fiske to be in possession of weapons and keys belonging to Kenyon College.
