The Johnny Appleseed Apple Fest

Feels like Autumn is here! If you are looking for seasonal family fun, check out The Johnny Appleseed Apple Fest coming to Downtown Mount Vernon! From 10 am-2 pm, Main Street has partnered with The Peoples Bank to celebrate our love for all things Apple, and honor one of Mount Vernon’s most notable pioneers, Johnny Appleseed!
The Knox Pages Main Stage, located at the intersection of Blackberry Alley and East Ohio Avenue, will welcome a Johnny Appleseed performance by Pleasant Street Elementary 3rd Grade students beginning at 10 am, and live music from Steamtown Road from 11:30 am-2 pm.
The Dumbaugh Insurance Demonstration Station will include era-appropriate demonstrations and will be located on West Ohio Avenue. A rotating cycle of demonstrators will take place on the Critchfield, Critchfield & Johnston, Ltd. secondary stage, located at the intersection of South Main Street & East Ohio Avenue.
The Spi Spot Kid’s Zone, presented by Wendy’s of Mount Vernon will feature exciting activities designed to both entertain and educate young minds. Located on Howard Street and inside SPI Spot at 400 South Main Street, you can’t miss out on the fun with FREE ADMISSION! Mount Vernon Players has even talked Johnny Appleseed himself into making an appearance.
Vendors will be able to sell directly from the streets of downtown and don’t forget to stop by the wonderful retail shops, restaurants and other attractions in downtown Mount Vernon to support our local merchants.
