August 27
A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for not having a visible license plate on Newark Road. Both the driver and the passenger were found to have suspended driver’s licenses. K-9 Feyd was used to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle and had a positive alert to narcotics. During the search of the vehicle suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, hypodermic needles, and other drug paraphernalia was located. Charges are pending further investigation.

August 28
A complainant advised that her 18 year old foster child ran away from the residence.

Deputies were advised by dispatch of a theft of a catalytic converter at Kenyon College. After speaking with the complainant by phone, the complainant said that he was contacted by Campus Security and they had advised him to file a report about the catalytic converter being stolen. A report was taken by a deputy by phone.

A Victim/Complainant called in to report that sometime overnight, unknown person(s) threw a large rock through her passenger side window of her vehicle. Also there was damage to the front windshield from other rocks being thrown at it.

A complainant reported that sometime overnight, person(s) unknown removed 2 flag advertisement signs from in front of his business.

Kenyon Campus Safety located marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia on campus. Deputies collected the items for destruction. They were placed into evidence for safe keeping until they could be destroyed.

August 29
Deputies were dispatched to Coshocton Road on a report of threats being made to a neighbor.

A female brought a wallet she found to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. A Deputy made contact with the female, collected the wallet for safe keeping, and filed a report.

A complainant called the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to report a gas drive off from a business in Danville. A report was filed to document the incident.

A complainant advised she struck a deer and thought it might be lodged under her vehicle. The deer was located in a field and dispatched with a duty issued firearm.

A complainant called and reported that a suspicious person was peeping over the shower stalls at a campground. Dispatch advised that the individual was trapped in the shower house by multiple patrons at the
campground. Deputies responded and while en route dispatch advised that the individual escaped the shower house and was now at his campsite with a gun, threatening others. Deputies responded and placed the suspect, Alec R. Jewett, in custody. Jewett was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident and a report was completed for documentation.

A complainant advised that they had located a young child in the roadway. The mother located the child, who had snuck out of the house through the front door. A report was made for documentation.
