New Location for Events

Community Education Events

Due to circumstances beyond our control, The Knox Substance Abuse Action Team (KSAAT) community education series throughout the month of August have been moved. The events will take place at the Ramser 4H Activity Center located at 700 Perimeter Drive, Mount Vernon. The center is located at the rear of the fairgrounds. All events are free to attend. Aug 5 Noon – 1:00 pm Substance Use Disorder Local Resource Panel, featuring: Knox Public Health, BrightView, The Main Place, The Freedom Center and Riverside Recovery

Aug 12  Noon – 1:00 pm Substance Use Disorder Brain Disease, presented by The Freedom Center and Riverside Recovery Services

Aug 12   3:00 – 4:00 pm Teen Sexting Panel, featuring New Directions Domestic Violence Shelter, Knox County Job and Family Services and Knox County Prosecutor’s Office

Aug 19 Noon – 1:00 pm Meth, Heroin and the Human Body, presented by New Vision

Aug 26 Noon – 1:00 pm Narcan Education and Distribution, presented by Knox Public Health

Aug 31 International Overdose Awareness Day, presented by KSAAT, the Freedom Center, Hospice of Knox County, Knox Community Hospital, Main Place and Riverside Recovery. Join us at 7:00 pm at Heritage Center Park 404 South Gay Street to remember those lost to overdose and to show support to individuals and families who have lost their loved ones and friends.

KSAAT is a coalition of community members and organizations dedicated to reducing substance abuse among youth and adults in Knox County. We are all a part of the solution. For more information or to get involved visit ksaat.org.
