New Projects Expected to Create More Than $30 Million in Investments

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted today announced the approval of assistance for six projects set to create 591 new jobs and retain 432 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $38 million in new payroll and spur more than $30 million in investments across Ohio.

Projects approved by the TCA include:

CENTRAL
FlightSafety International Inc., City of Columbus (Franklin Co.), expects to create 113 full-time positions, generating $10.2 million in new annual payroll and retaining $20.4 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Columbus. FlightSafety is an aviation training company and supplier of flight simulators, visual systems, and displays to commercial, government, and military organizations. The TCA approved a 2.018 percent, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHEAST
CBIZ Inc., City of Independence (Cuyahoga Co.), expects to create 25 full-time positions, generating $3 million in new annual payroll and retaining $34 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Independence. CBIZ provides accounting, insurance, and other professional consulting services to businesses. The TCA approved a 2.040 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

SOUTHWEST
Century Mold Company Inc., City of Monroe (Butler Co.), expects to create 70 full-time positions, generating $3.7 million in new annual payroll and retaining $2.8 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Monroe. Century Mold is a tier II supplier to the OEM automotive and heavy truck industries, supplying HVAC, powertrain, engine cooling, and functional plastic components and sub-systems. The TCA approved a 1.373 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Tekion Corp., West Chester Township (Monroe Co.), expects to create 103 full-time positions, generating $7.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $142,000 in existing payroll as a result of the company’s new project in West Chester Township. Tekion is a developer of a cloud-built platform intended to connect digital experiences to automotive retail. The TCA approved a 1.818 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

The Hilsinger Company Parent LLC (Hilco Vision), City of Fairfield (Butler Co.), expects to create 200 full-time positions, generating $6.4 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Fairfield. Hilco Vision manufactures and distributes eye wear accessories, including cases, lens cloths, lens wipes, and kits. The TCA approved a 1.186 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

WESTERN
Barbaricum LLC, City of Dayton (Montgomery Co.)
, expects to create 80 full-time positions, generating $7.2 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Dayton. Barbaricum provides government clients with integrated communications, mission support, and cybersecurity and intelligence solutions. The TCA approved a 1.822 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
