July 25
Deputies were dispatched to the area of Roosevelt Avenue in Mount Vernon on a possible suspicious vehicle that had been sitting in the roadway for approximately 20 minutes. Upon arrival, deputies located a male individual sitting in the vehicle passed out with a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person and several empty alcoholic beverage containers inside the vehicle. Deputies attempted to have the individual perform standard field sobriety tests, which the individual, Justin A. Shaw, was unable to perform and was placed under arrest for OVI.

A Kenyon student stated that his bicycle was stolen off the bike rack near his dorm. He stated that his lock was cut off between July 23 at 7:00 P.M until July 24 at 9:20 P.M.

July 26
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Columbus Road on a possible domestic violence. The complainant called stating that her live-in boyfriend had kicked her off the front porch of the residence, rendering her unconscious, and obtained several bruises and scratches to her body. The suspect, Shawn P. Davern, then fled the residence on foot but was eventually apprehended and transported to the Knox County Jail on domestic violence and assault charges. Statements and information were collected from the victim for a report to be written.
