Family Nature Quest Summer Programs are Starting July 17th!

EGGS-ploration
July 17, 10:30am – 11:30am
Spend your morning as an Oologist! We will explore a few secret places to peek at some bird eggs, and then we will discover some of the crazy, colorful, and quirky eggs from bird species all over the world. Everyone will design their own bird egg to take home! It’s sure to be an egg-citing and egg-cellent egg-venture! Meet in the Picnic Pavilion.
Pattern Party
July 24, 10:30am – 11:30am
Polka dots, stripes, checkers, and… honeycomb?! We see patterns all around us every day – on our clothes, backpacks, and tablecloths. But what about the beautiful patterns in nature? Join us for a morning hike as we search for some of the astounding patterns that exist in nature. We will also forage for materials to make our own nature-inspired mandala – a circular geometric art creation. Meet in the Picnic Pavilion.
Wildflower Wonders
July 31, 10:30am – 11:30am
Milkweed, Coneflowers, and Daisies, Oh My! It’s summer and the flowers are in full bloom. We will explore our garden and prairies in search of native wildflowers as we learn about how important they are. Everyone will make their own wildflower journal to take home. Meet in the Picnic Pavilion.
Can Ya Dig It?
August 7, 10:30am – 11:30am
Get the scoop on soil! Learn about what’s going on below our feet and why soil is so important to all the living creatures who make the BFEC their home (plants and animals alike). As soil scientists, we’ll do some digging and talk about different qualities of soil. Get into the nitty gritty of soil! Meet in the Picnic Pavilion.
