World Blood Donor Day

Celebrated on June 14th each year, World Blood Donor Day is a time to say Thank You to all who donate, and to encourage everyone who is healthy and able to donate blood. Knox Community Hospital has been host to 75 total blood drives for the American Red Cross (since we started counting!) and collected 1,911 units of blood to benefit patients. Anyone age 18 to 65 who meet certain health criteria is eligible to donate blood. Safe blood is critical for many treatments and emergencies. As one mom said, “If it weren’t for the generosity of blood donors, Kinzie wouldn’t be here with us today. Those blood donations are not only a gift to Kinzie but to our family, friends, and supporters.” Sign up for a local blood drive today. https://www.redcrossblood.org
