Knox County Sheriff’s Report – May 21, 2021

May 18
A complainant called to report that her ex-husband was refusing to exchange her child back to her and made threatening remarks toward her boyfriend. The complainant came to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to complete a statement. A report was completed and sent to the City Law Director for review.

Law Enforcement was dispatched to Tucker Road on a suicidal juvenile female. Law Enforcement responded and made contact with the complainant who was the juvenile’s foster parent and the juvenile. The juvenile was transported to KCH for a mental health evaluation per the request of the foster parent. A report was completed for documentation and to be forwarded to Children’s Services.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Centerburg on a car that had been vandalized. Photos were taken of the damage and a report was taken.

Deputies were dispatched to Marla Street in Centerburg for a disturbance. A male juvenile suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Muskingum County Juvenile Detention center for domestic violence.

May 20
A complainant called the Sheriff’s Office to file a theft report. A report was made.

A complainant advised that her mother had been a victim of an Amazon scam. The complainant advised her mother transferred money through various apps for a total of $1,826.00.

A complainant advised that someone had broken OSB wood that was over his window and took two bags of military items. The bags contained boots and clothing.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Murray Road in Mount Vernon on a possible domestic violence, involving a mother and her children. Upon arriving on-scene, deputies determined that the mother was currently experiencing a mental health crisis and needed to go to the hospital for evaluation but was refusing to go willingly. Deputies had to use force to gain control of the mother and eventually had her transported to the Knox Community Hospital, where she was pink slipped, pending a mental health evaluation by a Behavioral Health Representative.
