Mutual-Aid Barn Fire on Bryant Road

CH410, E419, T417, G414 were dispatched to the 6000 block of Bryant Road at 5:50 am on the report of a working barn fire. Mutual-aid companies were requested from Johnsville Fire Department, Mount Gilead Fire Department, Big Walnut Joint Fire District, Jefferson Township Fire Department, Monroe Township Fire Department, and the Eastern Knox County Joint Fire District, and Fredericktown EMS.
Upon arrival to scene a large 60-foot by roughly 150-foot pole barn was found fully engulfed in flames. There were multiple exposures with vehicles, and another large pole barn nearby. The initial engine company stretched the garden lay, and multiple 1 ¾”attack lines for suppression.
Water supply was setup at the nearby DelCo water plant on Lucerne Road where tankers filled and returned to the scene.
The barn and contents were a total loss, several animals were lost in the fire this morning. No firefighter or civilian injuries were sustained on this call.
All FCFD units were back in quarters by 10:40am. A lengthy cleanup was required to get equipment serviced, hoses loaded, and ready for the next call.
We would like to thank the family this morning and those that provided food and refreshments to the crews that were working on this call.
