April 12
A complainant called the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to report a possible stolen license plate. A Deputy responded and spoke to the complainant. A report was filed and the license plate was recorded as stolen.
Deputies received a complaint via telephone in the area of Fairview Rd. for a report of trespass. The complainant stated a male entered his barn without permission and requested the male trespassed from the property. A report was taken.
The Laurels of Mount Vernon called the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to report that a patient had been dropped off there without the proper paperwork from the Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry. The caller further advised that the patient was being violent and needed to be taken to the hospital for evaluation. Contact was made with the patient who was then transported to Knox Community Hospital without incident.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Columbus Road in reference to a possible domestic violence call. Deputies arrived on the scene and spoke with those involved and witnesses. One of the parties, Anthony A. Jordan, involved had an outstanding warrant and was arrested on said warrant. A report was filed and will be sent to the Mount Vernon City
Prosecutors Office for review.
A deputy was dispatched to Chase Ave on a theft complaint. Dispatch advised that someone had stolen the caller’s bicycle. the deputy responded and made contact with the complainant.
A deputy was patrolling the Kokosing Gap Trail looking for a suspect that left Gambier on a bike. West of Laymon Rd. on the bike path a person riding a small dirt bike. A traffic stop was attempted but they did not yield to the emergency lights or siren. The pursuit ended after about a mile after the bike went off road along the Kokosing River. The suspect was not located.
April 13
A complainant called 911 and advised that the victim had overdosed and was not breathing. Deputies and paramedics responded and transported the victim to Knox Community Hospital.
A complainant called and advised that the suspect was at her residence and possibly using narcotics. Deputies responded to the residence and located the suspect, Gregory L. Hyatt. It was found that Hyatt had an active warrant for his arrest and he was arrested and transported to the Knox County Jail.
