Bennett Recipient of the 2021 OSBA Service Award

Dr. Margie Bennett, KCCC School Board member, was recently the recipient of the 2021 Ohio School Board Association (OSBA) Service Award.
The OSBA Service Award is a distinct award and is part of OSBA’s new STAR Awards Program–Service, Training, Aptitude, and Recognition.
The OSBA Sevice Award is presented to a very select group. Of the more than 3,400 board members in Ohio, only 12 will receive the honor in 2021.
“I am surprised and humbled to be among the first Ohio school board members to receive OSBA’s new S.T.A.R. award. It’s an honor to have the opportunity to serve the Mount Vernon community on the two boards of education, MVCS and KCCC, along with their outstanding teachers, staff, administrators, and board members, who truly care about students. I feel very blessed and am grateful,” said Bennett.
OSBA officially recognized recipients of the Service Award at the virtual Central Region Spring Conference that was held on March 10.
Kathy Greenich, KCCC Superintendent, commented, “Dr. Bennett is very active with OSBA and serves on our board and also the Mount Vernon City School District board. She is always reading and learning to stay up-to-date on education. This award is not a surprise to anyone that works with Dr. Bennett.”
