February 26
A complainant called KCSO advising that there was a truck stuck in their yard and neighbor’s yard. The complainant advised that the individual was stuck in the yard, and was trying to drive out of the yard. The complainant stated that he believed the driver of the vehicle was impaired. Deputies responded and the driver, Lynn D. Maxwell, was charged with OVI.
A complainant called the KCSO regarding a female individual acting strange. The complainant works for Behavioral Healthcare Partners and requested that deputies attempt to get the individual to go to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
February 27
Deputies received a report of trespassing at the Knox County Fairgrounds. The suspect was located and trespassed from the grounds. A report was taken.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Sapps Run Road in reference to a person that was intoxicated and threatening to harm themselves. The person was located, taken into custody and taken to Knox Community Hospital for a mental health evaluation. Criminal charges are pending in this case.
A complainant called the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to file a report of unemployment fraud. A report was filed per the complainant and their employer.
A complainant advised a vehicle was abandoned on his property for multiple weeks. The vehicle was towed to On-The-Spot with proof of ownership for release.
February 28
A deputy was dispatched to Monroe Mills Rd on a report of an abandoned vehicle, sitting halfway in the road. The vehicle was impounded as it was unsafe sitting in the road, potentially causing an accident.
A victim advised dispatch that their riding lawnmower was stolen from a Grove Church Rd. address. The mower was entered into LEADS as stolen.
A traffic stop was initiated on the defendant’s vehicle for fictitious license plates. A K-9 was deployed and alerted to the vehicle. Drugs, drug paraphernalia and a hypodermic needle was located inside the vehicle. The two defendants were issued summonses for the drugs and hypodermic needle.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Kenyon Road on a possible suicidal male. Upon initial contact, the male was belligerent and combative toward deputies and was taken to the ground and placed in handcuffs(gapped and double-locked) detained. Once the individual was under control, an assessment was conducted on the male individual, in which they determined that the male was going through a mental crisis due to breaking up with his girlfriend. Contact was made with the individual’s brother at the residence and 211 crisis information was given to the individual. The individual was then released under the observation of the brother.
March 1
Deputies received a call from an individual concerned about his parents. The complainant advised his parents were in an argument and his father was injured. Deputies responded to the residence to check the welfare of the complainant’s father. The deputies determined the argument was a domestic violence incident and arrested Tina L. Grohe for domestic violence and assault.
