Sherman, Knox Receive Prison Sentences

Two Mount Vernon men were sentenced to prison on drug charges on Wednesday in Common Pleas Court.
Chase Sherman, 36, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to a total of four years in two separate cases. He received 24 months of mandatory time for aggravated trafficking in drugs for selling methamphetamine in April 2020. He will also forfeit $170.00 in drug proceeds to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. Sherman received an additional 24 months for an assault and spitting on jail deputies while he was in custody at the Knox County Jail. The sentences will be served consecutively.
Shade Knox, 31, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for aggravated possession of drugs from an incident in February 2020. Knox was arrested on a warrant and found to be in possession of a bulk amount of methamphetamine. Knox is currently serving a prison term, and the new sentence will run consecutively. Judge Wetzel indicated that Knox will be considered for a lock-down drug treatment program once he has served part of his new sentence.
