February 5
A complainant contacted the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to file a report of identity fraud.

A female went to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to report a possible domestic violence and assault. Deputies made contact with the female, collected a statement and a report was filed.

A complainant contacted the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to file a report of identity fraud.

A caller reported that a firearm had been taken from their residence. A report was taken and the firearm was entered as missing.

A victim reported that someone opened an unemployment claim in his name. A report was taken for documentation.

February 6
A deputy was dispatched to a Centerburg residence on a possible trespass. The resident said that an unidentified male tried to forcibly push his way by the resident after being asked to leave. The male then ran when the resident called 911. The resident gave pursuit but could not tell which direction he had gone. A statement was collected and a report was taken.

A complainant advised that someone entered an outbuilding, damaged a farm implement, stole bales of hay and a rifle.

A complainant advised that he was a victim of unemployment fraud and wanted a report for documentation. The complainant also called the fraud/identity theft state hotline to report the incident.

Timothy S. Shaffer, of Centerburg, was charged with assault and domestic violence and child endangerment. He was advised of his court date for all of the charges that were issued against him.

February 8
Deputies responded to the area of Van Winkle Road for a report of assault. Parties were separated and a report was sent for the Prosecutor’s review.
