January 26
A victim called the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to report that an unknown suspect opened an account in her name with a business called Preferred Lease. The victim requested that a report be filed for documentation.

A complainant advised that she was at the Gambier Municipal Office because someone had broken into her residence. A deputy arrived at the Municipal Office and then gave the complainant a courtesy ride back to the residence. The complainant advised that a picture frame and an Ipad were stolen. The incident is currently being investigated.

A complainant reported that she contacted what she believed to be technological support for Ebay and provided them with her information only to find out that the company was fraudulent. A report was made for documentation.

A complainant reported that her place of employment received notice that an unemployment claim had been fraudulently filed in her name. A report was made for documentation.

January 27
A complainant called the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and advised that there was a male dressed in dark clothing standing on her porch ringing her doorbell. The complainant stated when she said hell through the ring doorbell the subject walked away.
