Offenses

January 13
An officer responded to a residence on North Catherine Street in reference to a report of domestic violence. A report was taken and will be forwarded to the Knox Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office for review of charges.

Officers responded to Speedway on Columbus Road on a report of a fight. A report will be forwarded to the City Law Director’s Office to be reviewed for charges.

Officers responded to Marita Drive on a report of domestic violence that was physical. One male was charged and arrested.

January 14
An officer was dispatched to Knox Community Hospital for found contraband on a patient. Contact was made with the complainant and suspect. The contraband was collected and placed into a locker at the Mount Vernon Police Department. A report will be forwarded to the Knox County Prosecutor’s Office.

An officer responded to Beech Street on a reported abandoned vehicle. Upon arrival, the vehicle was located and Blubaugh Towing removed it.

January 15
Officers responded to East Ohio Avenue on a disturbance complaint. A female subject was placed under arrest for domestic violence. She was transported to the Knox County Jail where she was incarcerated. The victim declined a temporary protection order. This investigation has been closed.

January 16
An officer investigated a fraud complaint over the phone. Information was given to the complainant.

January 17
Officers responded to West Chestnut Street in reference to an active domestic violence complaint. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the female half at the residence who indicated the male had punched her because he thought he heard her talking about him. There was a visible injury to the female’s right eye. Scott Cosner was subsequently arrested for domestic violence and assault. Cosner was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

An officer responded to a vandalism call on North Main Street.

Units were dispatched to an apartment at Shalimar Drive in reference to a domestic disturbance. Contact was made with both involved parties and after investigation, Nicholas Pigg was charged with domestic violence and assault. Pigg was transported to the Knox County Jail and released to the jail staff.

January 18
An officer responded to a stolen vehicle call on South Main Street. a BOLO was sent out for the vehicle and a supplement will be added.

An officer responded to South Main Street on a trespass report. Upon arrival, the officer spoke to campus security, who advised of a known maile making staff and patrons nervous. The male was not in the building at the time of the call. A report was taken.

An officer was dispatched to the area of North Sandusky Street and Norton Street to meet with a representative of Dirt Dawg Excavating in reference to a theft. The representative advised that sometime between the end of day on January 15, 2021, and the morning of January 18, 2021, unknown person(s) had stolen a set of Caterpillar pallet forks from the job site. The representative stated that they were about 4 foot by 4 foot with 4-foot tines and black in color. They were made by “CAT” and new. The cost was around $1132.00. The representative did speak to Ross Brother’s scrap yard and they advised that they have not seen them. A written witness statement was taken for the report.

January 19
An officer responded to a burglary at Shalimar Apartments on Shalimar Drive.

Andrew J. Hartley was charged with two counts of assault, menacing, and two counts of domestic violence.

January 14
Angela M. Baldwin was cited for driving under a 12 point suspension

January 15
Gary R. Blackford was cited for operation at a stop sign
Kelow S. Jones was arrested on an outstanding warrant

January 16
Thane C. O’Neal was cited for red light and driving under suspension

January 17
Jared E. Walker was charged with disorderly conduct and disorderly conduct in a medical facility
Nicholas A. Pigg was charged with assault

January 18
Christopher Nelson was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license and driving under a 12 point suspension
