VEX Robotics Tournament At Energy Fieldhouse

On Saturday, 18 teams from across Ohio will arrive at Mount Vernon Energy Field House for a different type of competitive event, the VRC Change Up Robotics Qualifier. In the VEX Robotics Competition, teams of students are tasked with designing, building and coding a robot to play against other teams in a game-based engineering challenge. This year the challenge for each team is called “Change Up”.  The competition takes place on a 12’x12’ square field. The object of the game is to attain a higher score than their opponents by placing Balls in Goals, and Connecting Rows.
Teams also compete in a Skills Competition where they independently have 1 minute for a Driver Control and 1 minute for an Autonomous where they can score as many points as possible.
Along with the Tournament and Skills competitions, teams enter their Engineering Notebooks for consideration by Judges who are industry experts. They are interviewed by these Field Experts and Awards are given for excellent Engineering Notebooks and interviews.
