Offenses
January 1
Officers responded to an assault at Hawthorne Apartments on McGibney Road in Mount Vernon. While at the call, an individual turned over found marijuana. The drugs were secured in an evidence locker at the Mount Vernon Police Department to be destroyed.
January 5
An officer responded to South Park Street for damage that was done to a parked car. There was no information on whom the suspect could be.
January 6
An officer responded to Ann Street on a theft complaint. A report was filed for theft of a 16-inch girls Mongoose bicycle that is sun-faded pink in color.
A business on Coshocton Avenue reported that a theft occurred in December of 2020. A report was filed.
An officer responded to the Mount Vernon Police Department lobby for a violation of a protection order. A report is going to be sent to the Prosecutor’s Office for review.
January 7
An officer was dispatched to the Duchess Shoppe on Coshocton Avenue in reference to a 911 call. An investigation continues.
An officer was dispatched to McGibney Road to investigate an assault. A report will be sent to the City Prosecutor’s Office for review.
January 8
Officers were dispatched to the area of South McKenzie Street and East Chestnut Street in reference to a suspicious male subject that appeared to be “huffing”. The male subject was located on East High Street and subsequently charged with abusing a harmful intoxicant. Nothing further to report. Any new information will be supplemented.
January 9
Police responded to a business on Coshocton Avenue on a report of a disturbance between two people who were physically fighting. A report will be forwarded to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office for review. A report was filed.
