(COLUMBUS, Ohio) December 18, 2020 —Today, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine issued the following three reprieves of execution:
- Elwood Hubert Jones, who was scheduled to be executed on April 21, 2021. The new date of execution has been moved to December 6, 2023.
- Gregory Lott, who was scheduled to be executed on May 27, 2021. The new date of execution has been moved to February 15, 2024.
- Archie Dixon, who was scheduled to be executed on June 23, 2021. The new date of execution has been moved to April 17, 2024.
Governor DeWine is issuing these reprieves due to ongoing problems involving the willingness of pharmaceutical suppliers to provide drugs to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC), pursuant to DRC protocol, without endangering other Ohioans.
