New Projects Expected to Create More than $864 Million in Investments

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted today announced the approval of assistance for 16 projects set to create 4,183 new jobs and retain 1,051 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $240 million in new payroll and spur more than $864 million in investments across Ohio.

Projects approved by the TCA include:

CENTRAL
Aldi Inc., City of Dublin (Franklin Co.), expects to create 30 full-time positions, generating $1.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $4 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Dublin. Aldi is a discount supermarket chain with more than 10,000 stores in 20 countries offering groceries, wine and beer, and other home products. The TCA approved a 1.191 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Branch Financial Inc., City of Columbus (Franklin Co.), expects to create 150 full-time positions, generating $15 million in new annual payroll and retaining $1.8 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Columbus. Branch is a home and auto insurance company. The TCA approved a 2.197 percent, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHEAST
Airgas USA LLC, City of Independence (Cuyahoga Co.), expects to create 42 full-time positions, generating $1.8 million in new annual payroll and retaining $17.3 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s consolidation project in Independence. Airgas distributes industrial, medical, and specialty gases and related equipment, safety supplies and maintenance, repair, and operating supply (MRO) products and services to industrial and commercial markets. The TCA approved a 1.156 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

American DeRosa Lamparts LLC (Luminance Brands), City of Cuyahoga Falls (Summit Co.), expects to create 42 full-time positions, generating $2.7 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Cuyahoga Falls. Luminance Brands distributes lighting bulbs, fans and fixtures supporting the residential, commercial, and industrial lighting space. The TCA approved a 1.432 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Athersys Inc., City of Stow (Summit Co.), expects to create 400 full-time positions, generating $34.8 million in new annual payroll and retaining $10.8 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Stow. Athersys is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing novel and proprietary best-in-class therapies designed to extend and enhance the quality of human life. The TCA approved a 2.484 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Digital Room LLC, City of Solon (Cuyahoga Co.), expects to create 60 full-time positions, generating $2.8 million in new annual payroll and retaining $3.3 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in a to-be-determined location. Digital Room is an upload web-to-print business with printing plants across the United States. The TCA approved a 1.395 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

ISSQUARED Inc., City of Solon (Cuyahoga Co.), expects to create 109 full-time positions, generating $8.8 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Solon. ISSQUARED is an IT consulting and software company that provides private cloud hosting, disaster recovery, and business optimization services. The TCA approved a 1.853 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Lordstown Motors Corp., Village of Lordstown (Trumbull Co.), expects to create 1,570 full-time positions, generating $91 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s start up project in Lordstown. Lordstown Motors is an automobile manufacturer of electric vehicles. The TCA approved a 1.637 percent, 15-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Stakes Manufacturing (Stakes MFG), City of Eastlake (Lake Co.), expects to create 400 full-time positions, generating $12.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $2.7 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Eastlake. Stakes MFG is an apparel production, warehouse, and fulfillment company that specializes in print on demand manufacturing. The TCA approved a 1.326 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Tractor Supply Company, Village of Navarre (Stark Co.), expects to create 375 full-time positions, generating $14 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Navarre. Tractor Supply operates rural lifestyle retail stores with merchandise including equine, livestock, pet, and small animal products for agricultural and rural use. The TCA approved a 1.246 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHWEST
Lewco Inc., Erie Township (Ottawa Co.), expects to create 163 full-time positions, generating $8.4 million in new annual payroll and retaining $8.7 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s redevelopment project in Erie Township. Lewco manufactures industrial ovens used by the chemical and coatings industry as well as commercial conveyors and conveying equipment utilized in factories, warehouses, and other industrial settings. The TCA approved a 1.197 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS), Henry Township (Wood Co.), expects to create 606 full-time positions, generating $27.7 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Henry Township. UPS is a package delivery company and provider of supply chain management solutions. The TCA approved a 1.702 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

SOUTHWEST
Integrity Express Logistics LLC, City of Blue Ash (Hamilton Co.), expects to create 45 full-time positions, generating $3.4 million in new annual payroll and retaining $23.9 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Blue Ash. Integrity Express Logistics is a logistics company specializing in local trucking with innovative technology and operational efficiency to customize logistics solutions. The TCA approved a 1.532 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Walkenhorst’s, West Chester Township (Butler Co.), expects to create 60 full-time positions, generating $2.2 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in West Chester Township. Walkenhorst’s provides mail order retail products to inmates through catalogs and online ordering. The TCA approved a 1.071 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

WESTERN
Tangram Flex Inc., City of Dayton (Montgomery Co.), expects to create 31 full-time positions, generating $3.8 million in new annual payroll and retaining $3.7 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Dayton. Tangram Flex provides customized system integration toolkits and services to help defense customers modernize mission-critical systems. The TCA approved a 1.950 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

TBD
Daugherty Systems Inc., TBD, expects to create 100 full-time positions, generating $10 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in a to-be-determined location. Daugherty is an IT managed services company. The TCA approved a 2.100 percent, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
