Fire and Ice Event This Saturday

Plan to join us this Saturday, December 12th! The Knox County Park District and the Millwood Church of Christ have teamed again to bring a new “twist” to the wildly popular Fire and Ice event that benefits Food For The Hungry.
Due to the COVID – 19 pandemic, the Fire and Ice for 2020 will be held as two drive-through events and NOT AT HONEY RUN WATERFALL PARK. The drive-through events are scheduled for Saturday, December 12 from 5-8 pm at both locations.
Knox County Park District will place 300 sparkling luminaria to magically guide you through the Wolf Run Regional Park parking lot located at 17621 Yauger Road Mount Vernon 43050. Park District staff will be on hand to accept boxed and canned food and monetary donations for Food For The Hungry.
There is no need to park and leave your car as the drive-through luminaria will guide you to the drop-off point in the parking lot. The Park District will retrieve food items from your vehicles and accept the monetary donations at this site.
The Knox County Park District and the Millwood Church of Christ acknowledge the need in the community for food is greater than ever before due to the circumstances of the pandemic. We wanted to team up once again with Food For The Hungry and be able to help those in need. Keeping with the true spirit of “giving” during the holiday season and encouraging hope to the community displayed in the symbolism of the luminaria, we decided the show must go on, regardless.
Please join us at either of the two locations to enjoy our lighted display and donate to the Food for the Hungry campaign.
