We recently installed a dry fire hydrant that will service Palmyra and the surrounding area. Dry fire hydrants offer quick access to a water supply for firefighting purposes in areas that don’t have a municipal water source and standard fire hydrants. This access is especially crucial during the winter months when the pond/lake is frozen over.
We have numerous hydrants installed throughout our fire district. If you have a pond/lake on your property that would make a good water supply source for the fire department, please call our station at 740-694-9701 and we would be happy to do a site visit to see if the location meets installation criteria.
