Two sex offenders were sent to prison today in Knox County Common Pleas Court.
Leo Jones, 49, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to two years for failure to register a change of address. Jones has multiple prior sex offense convictions and had left his Mount Vernon residence and had been staying in Howard without registering a new address. This case was investigated by KCSO Dep. Jacob Lyons, 41, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to 28 months on two cases. Lyons received 17 months for pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, and 11 months for possession of methamphetamine with the sentences run consecutively. Lyons was found to have been in possession of Facebook messages including photographs of toddlers involved in sexual activity. The investigation led to the arrest and prosecution of an Alabama woman who was distributing the sexually oriented photographs of her granddaughter. This case was investigated by KCSO Det. Danial Bobo and the FBI Crimes Against Children unit. The drug case was investigated by MVPD Ptl. Tyler Berger.
