Government aggregation could change what you pay for your utilities

Ohio law allows for local governments to purchase electricity or natural gas on behalf of their residents, in a process known as aggregation. Government aggregations may be able to get better terms for their members than you could get on your own.

There are two options for aggregation: opt-in and opt-out. Opt-in allows residents to sign up individually, while opt-out automatically enrolls all residents unless they choose not to be included. If a local government wants to become an opt-out aggregator, a majority of voters must approve it in an election. Learn more about aggregation here.

Over 970,000 Ohioans have government aggregation on the ballot this November. Are you one of them?
