Baugher Hired as New Program Manager

Knox County Recycling and Litter Prevention is pleased to announce the hiring of Matthew Baugher as Program Manager. The current Program Manager, Randy Canterbury, has announced his intent to retire on January 12, 2021.
Matthew has a bachelor’s degree in Environment, Economy, Development, Sustainability (EEDS) with a specialization in Community Development from The Ohio State University. He was born and raised in Knox County and is a graduate of East Knox High School.
Matthew was a Knox County Park District Intern in the Summer of 2018 where he led community programming and performed general maintenance in our parks. He has also been a volunteer at the Brown Family Environmental Center in Gambier in addition to leading groups in the annual Kokosing River Cleanup. Matt will take on the full responsibilities of the position on January 12, 2021.
Randy Canterbury has served the County as Program Manager for 5 years. During his tenure, Randy has served on the Ohio Association of Litter Prevention and Recycling Professionals, revived the Kokosing State Scenic River cleanup, increased recycling options for the County, and became an affiliate of Keep Ohio Beautiful.
Moving forward, Matthew intends to engage the community and continue moving towards waste reduction and recycling education. These efforts will include working with local groups, schools, retirement homes, and environmental entities around the state to improve general sustainability in Knox County.
