Knox Foodies Food Truck Rally

Sunday, Oct. 4, 12-5 p.m.

Knox Foodies is hosting a Food Truck Rally in collaboration with Central Ohio Food Truck Association (COFTA) and Ariel-Foundation Park.

Knox Foodies, started by local resident Ann Weisent, in conjunction with the Central Ohio Food Truck Association, is pleased to announce its first ever Food Truck Rally happening at Ariel-Foundation Park, 10 Pittsburgh Avenue in Mount Vernon, on Sunday, Oct. 4, from noon until 5 p.m.

Planning for the event began prior to COVID. Once COVID hit, there was concern that planning for the event would not be able to continue, but with the cancellation of so many activities, Knox Foodies was committed to finding a way to bring this new dining experience to Knox County.

“In partnership with the Knox Public Health, a plan was developed and approved that would allow us to move forward with the event in a way that is compliant with all of the state orders on public events that are currently in effect,” explained Weisent. “This is an opportunity to choose from a diverse selection of foods offered by the participating food trucks, order on the Street Food Finder app or website and have your food delivered conveniently and safely right to your car!”

The event will feature 11 food trucks from Knox and surrounding counties. They include: Tacomania, Hogback BBQ Pit, Zaki Grill, Sazon Latin Street Food, Tortilla Street Food, Mikey’s Late Night Slice, Cupzilla Korean BBQ, Mama Lupe’s Kitchen, Coco Bongos Smoothies, Reel Smoke Casual Lobster/Seafood Dining and Schmidt’s Sausage Truck. Participation of trucks is subject to change pending verification of licensing and insurance.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Orders can be placed up to 4 days, but no less than 45 minutes in advance via the Street Food Finder app or at www.streetfoodfinder.com/arielfoundationpark. Select the food truck(s) from which you wish to order. Select a pick-up time for each food truck order. Place your order(s). Enter the park from Madison Avenue at least 5-10 minute prior to your scheduled pick up. Follow the signs to the designated pick-up area. A volunteer wearing a mask, will take your name and order number(s) and go to the truck(s) to pick up your order for you. Your order will be brought directly to your vehicle. Once you receive your order, you may elect to take it home or find a place on the Lakes side of the park to enjoy your meal in a safe, socially distanced manner.
