Columbus Post Investigates Multi-Vehicle Injury Crash

Columbus – The Columbus Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a 6 vehicle injury crash that occurred Monday morning at approximately 6:53 A.M. The crash occurred on eastbound IR 270 near Alum Creek Drive.

Marcus V. Guimaraez De Fretitas, 33, of Etna, Ohio, was driving a 2018 Western Star commercial truck eastbound on IR 270 near Alum Creek Drive when he came across slowed and stopped traffic. Mr. Guimaraez De Fretitas failed to stop for the traffic and struck a line of stopped cars in the rear, which involved 5 total passenger cars. Six total people were transported to area hospitals – Grant Medical Center, Mount Carmel in Grove City, and OhioHealth Emergency Department in Obetz – with non-life-threatening injuries. IR 270 was closed for approximately 3 hours during the investigation and is now reopened.

The Columbus Post was assisted on scene by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Obetz Police Department, Hamilton Township Fire Department, Columbus Fire Department, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
