Fun Fact Friday – Spiders

As Halloween is approaching you just never know what you might find in our geocaches. Someone found this guy at the Gambier geocache on the Kokosing Gap Trail! Our Fun Fact Friday is Spiders are not necessarily bad and do not worry, this one is not real. Spiders hunt for agricultural pests, like aphids, moths, and beetles, which helps property owners reduce the use of chemical pesticides. Spiders have also been known to prey on cockroaches, earwigs, mosquitoes, and flies and help to maintain a balanced ecosystem. They are an extremely important part of the ecosystem. And are paramount by controlling the numbers of bugs that can destroy plants in the wild. Equally, they regulate the crops on which we all depend, and without them, there would be much less produce for us to consume. #knoxcountyparkdistrictgeotrail2020 #thinktwicebeforekillingaspider #explore_knoxcountyparkdistrict #kokosinggaptrail
