807 North Mulberry Street, one of the most notorious properties in Mount Vernon for drug trafficking, has been purchased by the Knox County Land Bank. In recent years, this property has been the site of multiple drug busts and overdoses as well as scores of police calls. The prosecutor’s office filed a nuisance action and had one of the apartments boarded up two years ago.
At present, we don’t know if the Land Bank plans to renovate or demolish the place, but either would be a vast improvement and a benefit to the neighborhood!
