Knox County residents may have seen the billboard near the viaduct in downtown Mount Vernon honoring Sam Barone’s recent retirement as executive director of the Knox County Foundation. Thank you to Park National Bank for allowing us to honor Sam in this way. Knox County Foundation has also named a sunset swing “In Honor of Sam Barone” at Ariel-Foundation Park, a place community members can enjoy for years to come.
We want to remind everyone about the opportunity to participate in The Barone Family Arts in Education Fund as well, recognizing Sam’s 18-year tenure with KCF. The fund aspires to enrich the lives of Knox County primary and secondary school students by enabling innovative integration of the arts—music, fine art, dance, and dramatic arts (including playwriting)—into classroom curricula.
