On 7-17-20 at approximately 2:17 am, Mount Vernon Police Department and Mount Vernon Fire Department responded to 22 Marion Street on a reported stabbing. When units arrived, they located an elderly female victim that had multiple injuries from an assault that occurred at her residence, 510 North Sandusky Street. Officers went to 510 North Sandusky Street where they located suspect, Miranda L. Woods age 29, who was taken into custody. The victim was transported to Ohio State Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
Miranda Woods was charged with 2 counts of Felonious Assault.
The incident remains under investigation.
