WEEK OF 6/29/2020
Jacksontown, Ohio (Monday, June 29, 2020) – The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Knox County. All outlined work is weather permitting.
Mt. Vernon Avenue bridge replacement: Project includes bridge replacement of Mt. Vernon Ave. bridge between Cougar Drive and Lower Gambier Road. Completion date is Spring 2021.
- New impacts: On Wednesday, July 1, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Mount Vernon Avenue will be closed to traffic in both directions while the contractor completes the traffic switch for phase 2 construction. Following this traffic switch, traffic on Mount Vernon Avenue will be maintained similarly as it currently is, but will be moved to the south side of the bridge so that the north side can be built. Cougar Drive and Lower Gambier Road are also scheduled to reopen as part of this traffic switch.
