USDA To Implement President Trump’s Executive Order On Meat and Poultry Processors

(Washington, D.C., April 28, 2020) U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue released the following statement after President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order to keep meat and poultry processing facilities open during the COVID-19 national emergency.

NIH Clinical Trial Shows Remdesivir Accelerates Recovery from Advanced COVID-19

Hospitalized patients with advanced COVID-19 and lung involvement who received remdesivir recovered faster than similar patients who received placebo, according to a preliminary data analysis from a randomized, controlled trial involving 1063 patients, which began on February 21. The trial (known as the Adaptive COVID-19 Treatment Trial, or ACTT), sponsored by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health, is the first clinical trial launched in the United States to evaluate an experimental treatment for COVID-19.… Read full story

Knox Community Hospital To Resume Medical Procedures

Following Governor Mike DeWine’s announcement on Monday, April 27, Knox Community Hospital will begin gradually resuming a variety of surgeries, medical procedures, and diagnostic testing and imaging that will not require an overnight hospital stay.
