The Knox County Commissioners are seeking contractors to aid in the renovation of Martinsburg’s water facilities. Tuesday, the Commissioners approved placing a public notice through The Mount Vernon News for an Advertisement to Bid on the Martinsburg Water Project.
The project is being funded by a $312,500 Critical Infrastructure Grant from the State of Ohio. The grant will cover the drilling of a new well, construction of a well house, new well controls, installation of meter vaults, the replacement of 111 water meters, and the purchase of water meter reading software. It will also allow for updates to the existing water tower, including miscellaneous repairs, repainting the interior and exterior of the tower, and the installation of new mixing and cathodic protection systems.
