Cuyahoga County Corrections Officers Sentenced

(CLEVELAND) — Two former Cuyahoga County Corrections Officers were sentenced today for their roles in an attack on a restrained inmate. 

Nicholas Evans was sentenced to nine months in prison for each count, to be served concurrently.

Evans pleaded guilty on Oct. 15, 2019, to one count of attempted felonious assault (F3) and one count of tampering with evidence (F3). Evans agreed to resign his employment on or before sentencing.

Timothy Dugan was sentenced to 10 days in the Geauga County Jail.

Dugan pleaded guilty on Oct. 15, 2019, to one count of attempted abduction (F4) and one count of assault (M1). Dugan also agreed to resign his employment on or before sentencing.

The case was investigated with assistance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Special Prosecutions Section of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office prosecuted the case.
