2020 Knox County Hazard Mitigation Plan

The Knox County Emergency Management Agency is pleased to announce that the 2020 Knox County Hazard Mitigation Plan is available for public review and comment. The plan will be open for public comment from February 25 through March 8 and is available at www.consultrsa.com/knox. Comments can be submitted through the comment form on the website. A printed copy is also available at the Knox County Commissioners Office, 117 E. High Street, Mount Vernon and at the Emergency Management Agency Office, 11540 Upper Gilchrist Road, Mount Vernon.

The Hazard Mitigation Plan identifies the hazards that can cause damage in Knox County and actions that can be taken to decrease the cost of disaster response and recovery. The plan establishes county eligibility for special funding to support mitigation actions and facilitates collaborative efforts to address damages as a whole community.

Following the public review period, the plan will be submitted to the Ohio Emergency Management Agency for review and approval. Any questions about the plan can be directed to Mark Maxwell, EMA Director at markmaxwell@co.knox.oh.us or 740-393-6772.
