Further Charges for Debra Huff Forthcoming

On 2-24-2020 at approximately 8:35 PM, Officers of the Mount Vernon Police Department Emergency Service Unit executed a search warrant at 19 Hickory Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio.

The Search Warrant was the result of several month-long investigations by the Detectives of the Mount Vernon Police Department in cooperation with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the Knox County Prosecutor’s Office into numerous illicit activities at the residence. During the search drugs and items relating to drug abuse and drug trafficking were seized as evidence. Debra Huff, a resident of the house was arrested for an outstanding warrant, and taken to the Knox County Jail.

County Prosecutor Chip McConville advised that further charges for individuals related to the activities at the home are forthcoming. Mr. McConville further stated that he has been in contact with the legal representatives of the property owners of 19 Hickory St. and that eviction proceeding will begin very soon.

The Mount Vernon Police Department, Knox County Sheriff’s Office and The Knox County Prosecutor’s Office are committed to investigating and prosecuting illegal drug and nuisance activity in our community. Investigations such as this one span months of time and require the cooperation of multiple agencies, and many man-hours to be successful.
