Treaty Road Structure Fire

E419, E413, R415, T417 were dispatched to the 21000 block of Treaty Road at 8:48 am on Friday morning for the report of a residential structure fire. The caller advised that the whole house was on fire. Additional mutual aid was requested from the Jefferson Township Fire Department (Richland Co), Eastern Knox County Joint Fire District, Monroe Township Fire Department, and later, the Mount Vernon Fire Department. Fredericktown EMS was also dispatched to this scene.

Smoke could be seen from several miles out. First arriving units found a ranch style, single-family residential structure that was 50-percent involved in fire. E419 took a corner of the front yard and stretched multiple 1 3/4-inch attack lines for suppression. Incoming tankers nursed to E419 until the portable tank could be set up and draft established. Additional incoming units assisted with suppression and overhaul. A tanker shuttle involving the EKCJFD, Jefferson, and Monroe was established and a new dry-hydrant was utilized for water supply.

Crews were on scene for several hours overhauling and investigating the fire.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the area with closing down the roadways for firefighters at the scene. The FCFD had nine firefighters respond to this call. All FCFD units were back in quarters by 1:46 pm.
