Centerburg High School Drama Department Presents The Music Man

The Centerburg High School Drama Department will present The Music Man on Friday, March 20 and Saturday, March 21 at 7:30 PM and again on Sunday, March 22, at 2:30 PM in the Centerburg High School auditorium at 3782 Columbus Road.

By turns wicked, funny, warm, romantic, and touching, The Music Man is family entertainment at its best.  Meredith Willson’s six-time, Tony Award-winning musical comedy has been entertaining audiences since 1957 and is a family-friendly story to be shared with every generation.

The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize – despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef.  His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall.

The lead roles of Harold Hill and Marian Paroo will be played by senior Trey Figgins and freshman Madigan Kennedy.

The show also features seniors Sam Bassett, Alexis Cole, Makenzie Fields, Grant Hayden, Olivia Kelley, Abigail Montgomery, Lauren Sargent, Chloe Skillman, Amber Thomas, and Tori Walschott; juniors Grace Merriman, Victoria Nash; sophomores Cecilia Carlisle, Isabella Fink, Luke Grandstaff, Sequoia Hein Byerly, Marisa Heiser, and Meredith Morgan; freshmen Dallas Cornett, Judith Dettmar, Emilee Fletcher, Jasper Faught, Alyssa Harry, Autumn Kennedy, Casey Kennedy, Max Maffett, Alaina Montgomery, and Annelisa Nash; eighth-graders Alex Cole and Maddie Donabauer; and sixth-grader Asher Kennedy.

Tickets for The Music Man are $10 for adults and $7 for students and senior citizens.  Tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the show, starting an hour prior to the show.  All tickets are general admission, and no passes or discounts will be accepted.  For ticketing or any further information, please contact the Centerburg High School office at 740-625-6055.
