Kenyon College invites applications for the Mellon Science Writing Fellowship. This two-year fellowship offers a qualified individual time to develop as a writer and teacher. The fellow will also contribute to the evolution of the emerging, interdisciplinary science writing program at Kenyon. Fellows are expected to: undertake a significant science writing project, participate in ongoing conversations about science writing at Kenyon, teach one class per semester, and participate in the intellectual and cultural life of the college. The fellowship provides an annual stipend, plus health benefits. Applicants are expected to have prior teaching experience, a record of publication, and an MFA, Masters in Science Writing, PhD, or other relevant graduate degree.

A complete application includes: 1) a cover letter that includes teaching experience and statement of the writing project the applicant would conduct at Kenyon; 2) a Curriculum Vitae; 3) a writing sample (not to exceed 10 pages), 4) a statement of teaching philosophy that addresses inclusion of a diverse student population, 5) two letters of recommendation (at least one must address the applicant’s teaching).
