Wintery Mix Expected

A strong low-pressure system will move across the Great Lakes this weekend, bringing accumulating snow and a light wintry mix before changing to rain. Several inches of snow is likely across northern Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania with the heaviest snowfall expected across NW Ohio with this weather system. The snow will transition to a light wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain Saturday morning, with some minor icing possible. We expect precipitation to change to all rain Saturday afternoon with temperatures warming into the 40s. An Arctic air mass will move into the Great Lakes region late Saturday night through Tuesday which will develop lake effect snow for the primary and secondary Snowbelt. In addition, strong gusty winds will accompany this weekend system, with peak values of 35 to 45 mph likely Saturday through Sunday.
