Three Newark area men have been arrested in connection to a recent burglary in Martinsburg. On December 2nd, deputies responded to an alarm at the Martinsburg Marathon. They discovered the front door damaged, and cartons of cigarettes had been stolen. During the investigation, officers were able to get a license plate number of a vehicle that was used in the burglary. Detectives became involved in a joint investigation with Newark Police and the Licking County Sheriff’s Office.
As a result of the investigation, Christopher Diamond age 28, from Hebron and Dempsy Smith age 37, from Newark have been arrested and are being charged in connection with the Martinsburg burglary and four other business burglaries in Licking County. A third suspect Nathan Anacker was arrested and is being charged in the Licking County burglaries.
