Brown Announces More Than $4 Million to Improve John Glenn Columbus International Airport

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP) has awarded $4,250,000 to the John Glenn Columbus International Airport. These funds will go toward rehabilitating the airport’s taxiway.

“Ohio airports are vital to supporting travel and commerce in the state,” said Brown. “This investment will help to ensure the safety of John Glenn Columbus International Airport for residents and businesses for years to come.”

The FAA supports public-use airports included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS) through the AIP. The program supports projects that improve airport safety, capacity, security, and environmental impact. More information about the FAA’s AIP can be found here.
